The beer is brewed with two-row pale malt and a blend of four different hops: Cascade, Chinook, Simcoe, and Amarillo. Harpoon IPA is brewed in Boston, Massachusetts by the Harpoon Brewery. Though the beer lacks the overpowering citrus aroma of some others, it does have some piney hops flavor, and the bitterness is balanced by a slightly lower bitterness after sip. This beer had a tough time finding its way into my mouth as the more I drank it, the more I enjoyed it. Other year-round beers include the award-winning Dark, UFO Hefeweizen, UFO Raspberry Hefeweizen, UFO White, and Boston Irish Stout. It produces a beer known as Harpoon India Pale Ale as well as its other beers.

Today, Harpoon Brewery is one of the largest craft breweries in the United States, producing more than 60 different styles of beer.

The company’s name is a nod to the historic harpoon guns used to hunt whales in the 1800s. Harpoon Brewery is a Boston-based brewery founded in 1986 by three college friends.
